Resisting Idols Like Jesus | The Clarity of Christ for a Confused Church | 1 Corinthians - Week 19 | Jason Adams, Co-Lead Pastor
After a week of storms, loss, and grief across our community, we open God's word together and find that he is near to the brokenhearted. This message walks through 1 Corinthians 10:1-14 and asks a question that cuts deeper than we expect: what do you run to when life falls apart?
Israel had every spiritual advantage. Deliverance, presence, protection, provision. And still their hearts wandered. Paul writes it down as a warning for us, tracing the path from misplaced worship to moral compromise to open complaint against God's goodness.
We also correct one of the most misused verses in Scripture. God never promised you would not get more than you can handle. Life will absolutely hand you more than you can handle. What he promised is that no temptation will come without a way of escape.
Jesus did not die to remove idols from your hands. He died to reclaim your heart.
