Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, there was a tv show called the “Dukes of Hazzard.” It was one of my personal favorites, and where I found my fondness for the 1969 Dodge Charger… On that show, the actors communicated with each other (as truck-drivers do now) via CB radio. We’ve seen and heard of them. Maybe some of us have even used one…
In the tv show, when someone was trying to reach another via the CB, they would ask (of course, in a souther/country “twang”), “you gotcher ears on?” It meant, “hey - are you listening to me? I have something to say.”
An example can be seen in this short video clip

By now, you’re wondering where I’m going with this… Here’s my question to you - “you gotcher ears on?” In other words, are you listening? Are you paying attention?
All around us, every day, God is speaking. God HAS SPOKEN through His Word, but He’s also speaking each and every day by giving us opportunities to listen. To hear. To put into practice what He’s already told us to do.
One day, He’ll be speaking to us directly, audibly, face to face, and asking what we did with the opportunities He gave to us. Opportunities to show love to the unlovable. Opportunities to serve those in need. Opportunities to give Him glory and good to others… Read about it here in Matthew 25.
Let me give you an example of someone who was listening at the right time, and the blessings POURED out on the ones who needed it at that time… all he wanted was some donuts, but instead wound up with a home, college education, and a trust fund.

Let me ask - You gotcher ears on? Are you listening? Are you looking for opportunities to help others? Are you willing to partner with our church and others to serve?
Don’t be like the second group in the Bible passage in the link above… Don’t be wondering what happened. Jump in. Serve. Give. The time is short and the need is great. Get your ears on.
