What am I?

I’m on my way driving to South Bend this morning for a meeting with case managers I supervise, and thinking what exactly am I doing?  I supervise 13 case managers and we all provide oversight and manage individuals that receive in home services that have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities.  Anyone that knows me, can tell you that I love my job.  I’m not sure if it was what I was made to do, but I know I have a passion for the work that I do, and it’s all I ever talk about (inevitably if we’re having a conversation, my job will come up).  As I’m thinking I recall…did I in fact have the blog for this week that was due yesterday? By golly, yes I did.  Before I went to bed last night, I made sure to enter all the documentation for my work, but did I submit my blog for the church’s website, I sure did not…clearly I am not good at remembering…so what am I?

As I’m thinking about my lack of responsibility lol, the following song came across my car’s system:
Shawn McDonald’s “Beautiful” in it, he proposes that very question, "What am I?"

“What am I? That I might be called your child; what am I, what am I? That you might know me My King!”

Isaiah 43:7, “everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made”

The Bible teaches that the Lord calls us for one purpose, and that is to glorify Him.

I know I’m not the world’s greatest at remembering things, and I’m not a great blog writer, but I know this much; I was called for a purpose, as were we all.  That purpose is to glorify our King through faith and love and serving those He loves.

I commend you on your career path. It is a true help to people in need. That being said. I understand this blog is directed to people that believe the exact same way you do, but I would like to propose a question. What of the unbeliever who performs your same job? Is there life in vain? The good deeds and kindness performed, and the lives they effect directly for good. Does that not matter? Just curious as to your thoughts on this.
