WITH Him

Everyone knows the saying God does not give us more than we can handle. In reality, we often leave off the most important part of that phrase, the end WITH HIM. God may allow us to go thru things good and bad but it is never more than we can handle with Him.

I have learned over the years that when we try to do things on our own no matter how hard the trial or circumstances we may do ok or we may flail like a fish. Why is it as Christians we feel we can just do it on our own? We are not superheroes or last time I looked I was not although if I were I want to be like Wonder Woman! But in all honesty I would rather be following God and doing His will than have some cool super power. Back to the concept I was trying to get across; TRIALS, OBSTACLES, and other UNFORTUNATE EVENTS….. Where do you turn when things get rough? The easy answer is to say Oh I of course turn to God. But do we? Do we cling to the verse Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. I would like to think that I am always going to cling to that but here lately it has been a struggle. God has definitely been sending some things my way that have me leaning on Him because I cannot do it my own.

Of course our first instinct is to see how can I get out of this situation? How can I fix this? What can I do to make this right? I bet this is not entirely my fault or I bet if I do this this will happen… Any of this sound familiar to you? Do we see a common thought or word there? The word (I) yes you got it. Our society is full of ourselves we need to come back to putting others first. An example, when a trial comes reach out and help each other. If it is your trial, reach out to fellow Christians and ask for prayer and support. Matthew 18:20. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. We just need to trust in God. He just asks that we trust Him to take control of the situation. John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace, In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We need to realize we can try all we want to do things on our own. It may look as if we have it under control but in reality we have nothing under control without God. We need to remember in our times of trials and crisis to go back to the basics. Pray and get into God’s Word. We are not super human. God Gives Us Only What We Can Handle With HIM.
